Take Authority

This morning as I sit in quietness before the Lord, my mind roams over all the prayer requests and needs of His people.  As I realize there are many in the Kingdom of God that are hurting, I automatically understand it is due to the days we are living in.  Satan is our enemy and knowing his time is short, is strategizing to prevent us from spending eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He believes that wounded soldiers will go AWOL, that we will turn our backs on God and admit defeat.

Then I read a devotional from one of the Great Generals, Smith Wigglesworth.  As I read “Jesus was wounded so that He might be able to identify with your weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15).  You will find that almost all the ailments that you experience come as a result of Satan, and they must be dealt with as satanic; they must be cast out.  Do not listen to what Satan says to you, for the Devil is a liar from the beginning (John 8:44).  If people would only listen to the truth of God, they would realize that every evil spirit is subject to them.  They would find out that they are always in the place of triumph, and they would reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).  Never live in a place other than where God has called you, and He has called you from on high to live with Him.  Through Christ, He has given you authority over all the power of the Enemy.”

As I read this, faith rose within me to take the authority given to me to do warfare on behalf of all those that need healing in their bodies.  I also began to see clearly what the enemy was trying to do in my own life.  I had been experiencing symptoms of Complicated Migraines again, which God had already healed me from years ago.  So, I started thanking God for my own healing too, for I know He will do it again.  His love never changes and is unstoppable for His children!

When God reveals to you what is happening against you, stop it!  Prevent it from any further attacks!  Take Authority and rise up against your enemy!

I know there are numerous reasons why God’s people are hurting, but no matter what your situation is, I want to encourage you to do the same; take authority, resist the devil and his tactics.  Do not go AWOL on God!

James 4:7-8a – ⁷ Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  

Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

May the faith that God has given to all of us rise within you and give you the strength to carry on.  May we be like the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5 and not be content until we touch Him.  Always remember that you are never alone.  Besides the other believers in your midst, Jesus is praying for you too (John 17:20).  Who better than Jesus would we want praying for us?  Now that should encourage you!
